 Recent Meets

At Meets a variety of activities may take place, groups of members deciding their own options after discussion of weather and conditions.  Some members rock climb to a high standard, others prefer mountain routes and scrambling.  Experience contributes to winter activities. There is no 'led' activity.
Some days are long, over 12 hours, on other days there is time to climb and enjoy a swim. Winter can be superb, views can be stunning or atmospheric,
rain can be annoying, the midges are best avoided ......

The work had been done on the Saturday so 'relaxation' time on Sunday - the weather obliged.

July/Aug in the Alps
Various members had good Alpine snow.
A 'mature' group had super weather on the Breithorn (half of them over 80 yrs!)

Another younger group, had full blue skies on a different day, again on the Breithorn, those clear views.

Early July 2025
For a change, some members met Kayaking for a jaunt on St Kilda - when the weather was kind, super views and excellent 'day out'.

Alison's last Graham in Oct 2024

A dry day for a jaunt up Beinn Bhalgairean, a very sociable occasion. Alison has also enjoyed the summits of the Munros, Corbetts and Furths - congratulations - a 'Full House'.

Remote Scotland in July 2024
This week meet at Ronan allowed for days into Fisherfield, with its superb views - enjoyed by all.
Christine looking south east from Beinn a' Chaisgein Mor at Ruadh Stac Mor & A'Mhaighdean across Fruar Loch Mor (my best view in Scotland!)
Noelle beaming on summit of Beinn a' Chaisgein Beag, even more remote.

Another superb Easter in 2024
Many members congregated at Morvich - a very popular meet. Saturday was a 'warm up day' with groups on the Graham Biod Fhithich and Forcan ridge/ Saddle. Sunday, for many a longer day, included: one group heading off to the Glen Sheil ridge and its 7 Munros.  The delight of mobiles/social media enabled progress to be followed.  Another group ascended to the Bealach an Sgairne and descended below Beinn Fadda to the loch and up Sgurr Gaorsaic with a re-ascent on the return. Excellent weather.  The weekend had social evenings to celebrate our President's retirement from the 'day job'.

Please do get in touch if you would like to know more about LSCC, how to join or to enquire about or make a hut booking.

See 'What we do' for some extracts from recent Meets.

Why do you like being in the LSCC?

The philosophy of making us individually competent on the hill is so important. Self-care and as much self-reliance as possible is the key, even if you are with a guide.
